My Journey

Today is the start of a new beginning for me. I am starting my weight loss journey yet again. ONLY, this time it’s going to be different because of a few reasons.

#1. I’m sharing this journey with the world this time (or who ever reads it) in the hopes that it will make me more accountable. I’m using this plat form as my journal so to speak.

#2. I’m changing the way I look at this journey. It’s no longer a diet for me, but a healthy way of living. A diet I can do no problem, but the thing is I never stick to it. I do it, I lose weight, then BAM! I fall off because I hit my mark. (some call it the Yo-Yo effect)

This goes so much deeper than that for me. I know a lot of people didn’t have the best childhood, so I don’t complain. Hey I’m here and breathing right? I have 6 beautiful kids and 6 beautiful grand-kids, a wonderful- loving husband so I consider my self to be blessed! The reason I say it goes much deeper than just a diet for me is because when I was growing up the only thing in my life that I had any control over was my weight. So I chose to deal with my stress by not eating, which in turn caused a lot of problems for me later. Some of the issues that I had to deal with as a child were very difficult for me. And I just shut down. Now as an adult, not only am I still dealing with them, but I am also dealing with the ramifications of starving myself.

But on a positive note, I am dealing with it! Not ignoring it anymore. I need/want to lose 35-40 lbs. And I know I can do it.

I’m 5’2, small/medium frame, and according to my chart should only weight approx. 108-132 lbs. Needless to say I’m about 40 lbs over what I should be according to the Health Check System’s chart. Is this chart right or wrong? I don’t know 100% So you should only go based on how you feel and look in your own skin. That’s what I’m going to do. I know based on how I feel and how my clothes fit me, I need to lose weight. I’m not really sure if there is even a chart that can really 100% accurately tell you where you need to be (that is not the basis for this journal) I just know I feel better about myself when I’m with in this range.

I know I mentioned in one of my previous post’s that my son is a professional MMA fighter. He trains harder than anyone I have even seen in my life train. He really knows his stuff. So to lose weight I follow what he tells me. This time I just need to make it part of my life, not just a diet. In my next blog I will post some of the meal plans he has lined out for me in the past, and I will be putting them to use. Feel free to join me if you feel that you could use the tools to shed a few pounds yourself.

XoXo
